Overview
Ruuty helps you create, save, and manage travel routes, trip plans, packing lists, and related travel content. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the Ruuty mobile app and website.
When you choose an AI feature, Ruuty explains what planning data will be shared and asks for your permission before sending that data to an AI provider.
By using Ruuty, you agree that we may process information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Information we collect
- Account information, such as your Apple Sign In identifier, email address if shared, Firebase user ID, and basic authentication status.
- Travel planning information you provide, including destinations, trip length, travel styles, pace, budget tier, traveler type, transport preferences, saved routes, trips, places, notes, ratings, and packing items.
- Approximate place and route data, including city coordinates and selected place coordinates used to build maps, routes, directions, weather summaries, and destination content.
- Purchase and entitlement information from Apple and RevenueCat, such as subscription status, product identifiers, AI credit balances, and purchase event metadata needed to unlock paid features.
- Technical information, such as app version, device and operating system information, Firebase identifiers, notification tokens, logs, diagnostics, and security signals used to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
- To authenticate users and keep accounts secure.
- To generate AI-powered itineraries, route suggestions, place descriptions, and city imagery.
- To save and sync your routes, trips, packing lists, preferences, credits, and subscription access across devices.
- To show maps, places, weather summaries, route details, and relevant destination imagery.
- To send service notifications, prevent abuse, debug problems, improve reliability, and respond to support requests.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to operate Ruuty, including Apple services for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, MapKit/Apple Maps, WeatherKit, and system frameworks; Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, messaging, app integrity, and hosting; RevenueCat for subscription and purchase entitlement management; OpenAI for AI route and content generation; and Unsplash for destination imagery.
These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We only send information that is reasonably needed for the feature being used, and AI route generation requires an in-app permission step before planning inputs are shared with OpenAI.
AI processing
When you tap Generate with AI and give permission in the app, Ruuty's cloud functions send the planning inputs needed to create your itinerary to OpenAI. These inputs may include destinations, countries, city coordinates, trip length, travel styles, pace, budget tier, traveler type, transport preferences, and response language.
OpenAI uses these inputs to generate itinerary text and map search parameters for your route. Your Ruuty account identifier may be used by Ruuty internally to manage credits, quotas, abuse prevention, and generation logs, but it is not included in the itinerary prompt sent to OpenAI.
Do not include sensitive personal information in route names, notes, prompts, or other free-form fields. If you do not want AI processing, you can cancel the AI disclosure prompt and build a route manually in the app.
Data retention
We keep account, route, trip, credit, purchase, and operational records for as long as needed to provide Ruuty, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account or personal information by contacting us.
Your choices
- You can choose whether to share your email when using Sign in with Apple.
- You can manage notifications in iOS settings.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
- You can delete routes and trips in the app where deletion is available.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information, subject to applicable law.
Security and international processing
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Ruuty may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including through cloud providers and service partners.
